What Do I Wear?
New Jerusalem Lutheran Church welcomes all of our members to wear whatever makes them feel comfortable in worshiping the Lord. From casual to “dressed up,” you will find many fashionable church members in our pews!
What Are The Fellowship Opportunities?
Get to know us! We offer a fellowship opportunity after each service with coffee, juice, and light snacks. Many other opportunities are available during the year including a Chili Cookoff, annual men’s barbecue, and the always delicious Souper Bowl Sunday.
Do I Have To Give An Offering?
We welcome visitors and congregants to join us in offering gifts of both time and treasure to the Lord. Offerings support our ministries in the local community and the greater world. The Bible encourages us to tithe as an expression of the gifts the Lord has bestowed upon us. Congregants should give as they are free and able, and envelopes are provided in pew racks for your convenience.
We also offer an online giving options. Contributions from members or guests can be made via credit or debit. To learn more, visit our online payment site here.
What Is The Worship Service Like?
We follow a traditional worship service and utilize different hymnals including the Lutheran Book of Worship and With One Voice. We have a dedicated choir and often can hear our talented musicians playing from the balcony. We pray. We recite creeds. We confess our sins. We sing. We hear the Word of God. We take joy in celebrating our faith in Christ.
What If I Have Children?
Congregants and visitors of all ages are welcome in our sanctuary! We encourage families to allow their children to experience and participate in our worship service. We also have a staffed nursery for those children that need a little break, and now offer a section of our fellowship hall called "Cherub's Corner," where families can enjoy Christian books, coloring supplies and building blocks, all while enjoying the service via our sound system.
What About Communion?
Communion is offered at every worship service. We welcome visitors who have communed in other congregations to commune with us. Anyone not prepared to commune is invited to step forward for a blessing. Wine is offered from the first chalice and grape juice from the second chalice. Ushers are available to assist you during the communion procession.
