Adult Bible study will be returning this November! The same class will be offered at two different time slots: 9:00 a.m. on Sundays, beginning Nov. 3, and 10:30 a.m. on Thursdays beginning Nov. 7.

TOPIC: Parables of Jesus, seen through the Middle Eastern culture of Jesus’ day. We will explore how Jesus’ audience would have understood eleven of Jesus’ parables, and consider how that information enhances our understanding today. The parables we will study include The Good Samaritan, The Great Banquet, and The Two Lost Sons (The Prodigal Son).

MATERIALS: The class will study selected passages in the Gospel of Luke with the help of the study book The Parables of Jesus by Harry Wendt, of Crossways International.

COST: The study guide is $6 per person. If you cannot cover that cost, the church can help so don’t let that stop you from participating. Speak to Diana or PK and confidence will be maintained.

Class meets in the Adult Education classroom. All adults and youth are welcome.

The class will be led by Diana Zapf. Anyone who cannot attend all the sessions is invited to participate whenever they can. For more information contact Diana Zapfat (540) 822-5459 or by e-mail at

31 Jesus then said to the Jews who had believed in him, ‘If you continue in my word, you are truly my disciples, 32 and you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free.’
