Schools out! So start the summer with learning, worship, service and fellowship.

Let your first full week of summer vacation be among friends and neighbors at the New Jerusalem Lutheran Church SCHOOL’S OUT DAY CAMP! We partnered with Mar-Lu-Ridge Camp and Retreat Center in Jefferson Maryland to offer a week-long summer camp program designed to bring the mission of the MLR mountaintop community to local congregations. Mar-Lu-Ridge, an American Camping Association accredited camp, will provide the youth ministers and curriculum that make for a transformational week.

Christian curriculum

Passionate and well-trained summer staff will join with our pastor and church lay volunteers, to offer a safe, grace-filled, fun-loving, social- and skill-building week. Every day your child will experience Bible studies, small and large group games, delicious food, crafts, campfires, worships, and various other activities. There may be time to plant, harvest, and learn about the environmental aspects of the parsonage gardens and orchard.

Day camp offers a wonderful way to ensure your child is spending time outside, learning about Christ and generally having a great time. On Friday our camp week will conclude with afternoon of water games and a good ole parsonage backyard barbeque picnic.

In addition to all the activities the church will provide morning and afternoon snack, a full nutritious lunch, and will accommodate individuals’ dietary restrictions. If you need to drop off your children before 8:00 p.m. or pick up your child after 5:00 p.m. we will try to accommodate your commuting schedule.

Registration information

Download a pdf of the brochure HERE. (Brochures also are available at the church office on Sundays or during weekday office hours.) Cost of the camp is $40 per day or $165 for a full week. Online payments can be made by clicking HERE.

Preference is given to those who would like to register for the full week, but we will try to accommodate families’ personal schedules as we are able. Limited scholarships for those with limited ability to pay for the camp are available. Full and partial “camperships” are available through churches and from the camp.
