Join us for a production of In The Big Inning!
This summer we are offering a FREE children’s theater and arts camp that we’re calling “Camp AGAPE.” Agape is one of the Greek words used in the bible which we translate as “love”—in particular, the type of unconditional love God has for all of God’s creation and which we are called to share with one another throughout God’s world. Here at NJLC, we are committed to sharing God’s love with our neighbors (It’s even our logo tag line!), and especially with the children, youth, and families of our community. There can be no better name for our summer program than “Camp AGAPE”!
Camp AGAPE will serve as the inaugural children’s theater production of a new ministry developing here at NJLC: “The AGAPE Children’s Theater.” We’re excited to have a planning team consisting of adults from both the church AND the Lovettsville community who are passionate about Jesus, the arts, and about sharing God’s amazing love with kids and teens and helping THEM to build loving relationships with one another and God’s world. We have acting directors, musical directors, visual arts directors, mulit-media directors and so much more.
Camp AGAPE will run Monday, July 22nd through Friday, July 26th with weekend production dates/times TBD. There will be an option for 7- to 14-year-olds to register for a full day (9:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m.) or a half day (9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m.). Pre-K/K camp will only be the half day option running 9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. during that week. All children who register will be a part of the production—even the littles. Any youth 15 years and older can register/volunteer as “Production Assistants” to help kids learn lines, help shepherd groups from place to place, help make props and set decorations, etc.
General schedule for Camp AGAPE will be:
9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. Acting/Music/Movement Rehearsal
12:00 p.m. - 12:30 p.m. Lunch (Full day campers will bring their own lunch each day.)
